The SHARE Study
The purpose of the SHARE (Sex Hormones, Alcohol, and Reward in Exposure to trauma) study is to learn more about the relationship between alcohol use and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. You are being asked to join because you are between 18 and 65 years old, are not currently taking hormone contraceptives (i.e., the birth control pill, injections, implants, intrauterine devices [IUDs], vaginal rings, and skin patches), have experienced at least one stressful life event, and have consumed alcohol within the last 30 days. We plan to enroll 120 participants in this study over 3 years.
