OUR
MISSION

The Hinojosa Lab is part of the Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico. We utilize neuroimaging techniques to investigate co-occurring PTSD & AUD.

 MISSION STATEMENT

The goal of the Hinojosa Laboratory is two-fold: (1) conduct high-quality science on the co-occurrence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD) in our Southwest community and (2) strengthen laboratory members’ research and professional skills to help them achieve their ultimate career goals.

TO ACHIEVE THIS, WE WILL:

  • Strive to conduct cutting-edge research in the PTSD+AUD field.

  • Be a highly collaborative group, generous with time and resources.

  • Develop laboratory member research and professional skills, practically and conceptually, through discussions and hands-on learning.

  • Commit to fostering a welcoming environment. We strive to make all students feel supported and respected.

  • Learn to communicate and disseminate our science to all audiences, especially the Southwest community we serve.

  • Pursue continuous improvement of our laboratory practices and neuroimaging training.

  • Learn about, create opportunities for, and celebrate ideas and research from a variety of perspectives.
