SHARE (Sex Hormones, Alcohol, and Reward in Exposure to trauma)
The purpose of the SHARE (Sex Hormones, Alcohol, and Reward in Exposure to trauma) study is to learn more about the relationship between alcohol use and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. This project is funded by the National Institute of Health - National Institute for Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (NIH-NIAAA). We plan to enroll 120 participants in this study over 3 years.
OASIS (Observing Alcohol use after Sexual assault and its impact on Students)
The purpose of the OASIS (Observing Alcohol use after Sexual assault and its impact on Students) study is to learn more about behavioral differences in trauma type, sexual and non-sexual, characteristics of a traumatic event, and alcohol use behaviors. This study will also assess the role of gonadal hormones in moderating the relationship between trauma type, PTSD symptoms, and alcohol use behaviors. We plan to enroll 96 participants in this study over 18 months.
